Tonight's selection is a (very) catchy remix of Katy Perry's pop hit "Teenage Dream" by British DJ/Producer Digital Self. Trance superstar ATB has been using this track in his sets for close to two years. If it's good enough for him, it's good enough for me.

I fell in love with this track the first time I heard it on an internet radio station. Curious, I Googled the lyrics, and to my surprise, discovered that this was a remix of none other than…Katy Perry!

"But, Adam," you ask, "Katy Perry? Are you sure?"

Yes, I'm sure.

Also, 27 million Twitter followers? That's pretty powerful.

Simian Mobile Disco - I Believe

Ever wanted the perfect song to watch Mazdas drift in the snow? Then you'll love "I Believe" from the UK-based electronic duo of Simian Mobile Disco. Released on their debut album, "Attack Decay Sustain Release", this is a style of electronic music I'm not too familiar with. Regardless, I've recommended it to a few friends around the office, and it seemed to be well-received. Who knows, it might even work to watch Mazdas drift on dry pavement.

Jan Johnston - Sleeping Satellite (Kenneth Thomas Remix)

You are probably not going to find this one anywhere.

This is one of those rare, beautiful electronica tracks that transports me to a state of auditory bliss. Honestly. No matter how many times I listen to this, I always get a shiver up my spine.

I'm not quite sure how to describe it, really. It's a good dance track, one that is both energetic and subdued in the space of a minute, with a great beat and captivating female vocals.

There's another song out there that has the same effect on me. Keep an eye out for that one in the near future.

Solarstone featuring Jes Brieden - Like a Waterfall

Jes Brieden is the haunting voice behind the Motorcycle band, famous for their dance hit "As The Rush Comes." Her ethereal vocals, while lacking lyrical depth, are simply captivating to listen to.

She now has a solo album out entitled "Disconnect," and she's worked with some of the big names in electronica, like DJ Tiesto and Paul van Dyk.

Other great tracks featuring Jes (as she is commonly known) are "Ghost", "Imagination" and "Living the Dream."

Starkid - Crayons (Leama & Moor Mix)

Great songs don't necessarily need a piano.

In the Denver market, electronica gets about 45 minutes of airtime each day on one station. And given the declining quality of even that, I've turned to internet streams for my techno fix.

Here's a highlight. It's mesmerizing. Hypnotic. Euphoric. This is good stuff. You can't help but get into it. Yes, a common complaint is that it's "repetitive," but to the trained ear, you can pick up on crescendos, ethereal voices, and the surprisingly graceful harmony that can accompany a rapid beat.

As much as I love the genre, it can be insanely frustrating. The tracks don't always have lyrics, so trying to figure out the title can be next to impossible. But I was fortunate to learn the title of this remixed "Crayons" track. Produced by Starkid (real name Adam Spears), it's a pleasure to listen to (and dance to, if you have the talent). Sadly, Adam Spears was killed in a car crash at the young age of 18.

I'm sure he would have been delighted at this song's popularity within the genre. This remix was produced in his memory.
