I'm a little late posting this one; sorry. I came back from a trip last night.
The Blessing was a music group fronted by William Topley, a British musician. He has done some solo work as well, and while he's somewhat well-known in the Boulder area, he's quite obscure. He doesn't get the attention he deserves.
Delta Rain contrasts Topley's deep, distinctive, gravelly voice with the sweet sound of his guest female vocalist, Rebecca Price. The lyrics and imagery are superb.

No kidding... Once upon a time I was driving through Germany and I was listening to BFBS I think it was called, the BBC for English militay stationed in Germany when I heard Delta Rain for the first time... As soon as Rebecca Price started singing I literally hit the brakes to not miss out on who the hell this was....
When God created the voice of Rebecca Price he had an incredible good day...
